Video Games And Obesity

video games and obesity
Do you think that cocooning plays a large role in the increase of obesity as a problem in this…?

…country?
We seem to be staying more and more inside the ‘gated community’ of our own homes. Either it is dangerous to go out or the media makes us think that it is dangerous. We are often afraid to let our smaller kids play unattended and so forth. This leads to a sedentary lifestyle (television, video games, Internet, etc.) What do you think?

Remaining stagnant inside your home, glued to the tube, afraid to the point of paranoia to go outside, yes, I do agree with you. Containing yourself with nothing but time on your hands can lead to obesity. What else is there to do? It’s not healthy turning yourself into a zombie. You need to experience the outside world, not be afraid of it. Sure, there’s alot of bad out there, but you have free will. Exercise it. Educate your children of the dangers they may come in contact with. They have to learn to live in society. You can’t shield them forever. Protect them, make them aware of whats in store for them. Let them make the right decisions. Don’t be afraid to live.
