This violence desensitizes more sanitized version of Iraq or the video game industry?

My thought is that they are inured to violence generally. The worst version is the current wave of opinion regarding the use of nuclear weapons. Given the America's addiction to quick fixes I can imagine a mushroom or a small forest of them.

I think it a gradual process, including the above. Restart a game and the same characters are there to be killed again. Man who was shot, stabbed or beaten to death on television is often a program that we see in the same week and seems to be okay. We hear there is a war, but did not really get to see real images of war that would make people understand. All these things must be registered in our brain a certain level. The same applies to the nuclear situation. We're used to seeing images of a nuclear test and we knew that the Soviet Union could translate the images in our own lives in a very short time. There were also photos of our own destruction of two cities and 300,000 Japanese and we knew we could occur. Now people think we're the only superpower, and as you said, are dependent quick fixes that make the problem go away with little effort. I guess people are starting to see nuclear war as the pill and are ready to take, regardless of possible side effects. I think our development of a missile shield in spite of previous agreements are not evidence clear that our government is waiting to be attacked and again use the weapons themselves.
