Video Games Educational Value
Why does the society hate video games so much?
i really dont understand it. i am a gamer, but everyone in my family dislikes me because of it. what is wrong with playing video games? i know that games such as grand theft auto is a little useless, but to be honest, games like call of duty: world at war is educational. from playing call of duty: world at war, i actually learned quite alot from it. i took a world history class after playing this game, and i aced every test that had to do with world war II. this proves that some games actualy have educational value, but my family turns a blind eye toward them. they asked me about my accurate knowledge on world war II, and i told them it was from playing call of duty. they were disgusted, and said that learning should never be in a fun way. i found that president Obama is saying the same thing, from a speech some time ago. why is the society so ignorant? is it only me that gathers useful information from games?
Where ever you go, someone’s going to be ignorant and not like what you do.
Personally, I’m a gamer too, and you do learn a lot, plus things you don’t learn in school (hell I know how to survive some weird situations if I’m ever in them), and video games only affect basically young children. And if you’re dumb enough to let your toddler grow up playing GTA4, well that’s your own damn fault. Especially if you don’t teach them better, and spoil them and let them do whatever the f they want.
