What does a 19 year old do for fun?
I’m 19 yrs old muslim guy. I am feeling lonely and a bit depressed. I am a hard working student and get straight A’s however I have a nonexistent social life. I have no car, so I don’t go out to clubs or anything plus I dont hang out with people who go to clubs, nor do I drink or do drugs or smoke. I have a best friend and usually we just stay in on fridays and play video games online. Over the weekend I sometimes (rarely) visit my cousins, and usually end up staying home reading, watching tv, or playing games on my pc. Plus I live in canada and its really cold to go outside. Also, I am looking for a job at the moment handing out resumes so dont say get a a job. I go to college and am shy at meeting new people. I have 4 friends at college but am not really close to them (only know them for half a semester). So I cant really hang out with them over the weekend. Can someone give me some advice? Thanks
You’re supposed to go out and hang out with friends at this age! 18-22 is the prime age to have fun before having to buckle down and go out into the real world. I’m 19 too and what I do at my college is play for the rugby team, I’m in a ton of different clubs that interest me. And that is really the best way to meet new people and make new friends. If you like playing video games try to find others with the same interest. But remember, college is also the best time to step out of your comfort zone. I was such a shy person , never drinking, never smoking, never partying in high school. But I got tired of always being a loner. So I got to college and started meeting a bunch of new people and started hanging out with them. I admit, I did party a bit but thats where a person needs to learn their limit and self control. I’m NOT encouraging drinking and partying but I am encouraging you to step out of your comfort zone and try new things. If you’re still not into that, its not the only thing to do. Go bowling, play sports with people, fun stuff like that.
