Video Games Systems For Toddlers
Educational video games bad for toddlers?
My son will be turning 3yrs old soon, and my husband and I found a great deal on a Vtech Vmotion game system for his birthday. Now that we bought it, I’m thinking about taking it back because I’m worried he’ll lose his ability or interest to play creatively on his own once he tries the video games. I plan on only allowing him to play it for an hour or less each day, and where we live the winters are extremely long and cold so we are forced to be stuck inside. All the video games are educational, so I’m really conflicted…Have any of you had bad experiences with letting your yound kids or toddlers play the educational video games? Did your child lose interest in regular creative playing after that? What’s your opinion? Any advice you have would be great. Thanks!
My niece got one of the kids game systems when she was 13 months old. and has been playing it since she was about 15 months till now (2 1/2) Yes she does play it just about every day. For maybe half an hour. It is her mommy and daddy’s Quiet time as my niece does not nap. But she still plays with her baby dolls where she is the mommy and kitchen set where she is the cook. So as long as the playing time is limited. Besides the V motion system is actually better than the other toddler/preschooler game systems v-tech makes. The vmotion makes them move. So they are not just sitting there.
